The secret of a happy life is to be able to take pleasure is simple things.

In the words of the song 'You're nobody till somebody loves you' money can't buy you happiness when you're growing old.

For more words of wisdom and the meaning of life, I'll be sat under a tree half way up Tottington Rd. on the left hand side on Saturday morning from 10.30 till 12.00 and be happy to advise (for a reasonable fee).

You will be better off just howling at the moon.

A well paid job that you don't like by a mile, for me. As a rule, you only work 8 hours a day, so use the the rest of the day and your nice wad of cash to do something you like!

Moon howling is indeed beneficial and calming to the inner spirit, it's also a very cheap thing to do but you have to have understanding neighbours.

I'm in my final year of an accountancy degree. I haven't had any on the job experience yet but there's a good chance I won't like it. The work is tedious and boring and I don't get on with the sort of people I expect to be working with.
I chose it in hope that the potentially great money would make it feel worthwhile. If that turns out not to be the case, I plan to tough it out until I've paid off my debt, then look for a career in healthcare, which albeit generally poorer paid is something I think I'd enjoy.

Natasha,

You can always fall back on your second career of being a high-class call-girl.

If you haven't had any on the job experience, how do you know what the work is like but more importantly what the people are like? I work in accounting, specifically audit, I can't say the work when you start is particulary interesting but it's essential to get an understanding of the basics. As for the people, I imagine it's the same as any profession, you'll have twats everywhere. I would say when I worked in London there was quite a high proportion from a public school background but apart from occasionally seeming like they are from another planet they were mostly easy to get along with.
