If it was ever true? there is a difference of opinion .
I think McNab flowered up the true version of events. I saw a docu which exposed a few flaws in his account.
The one that got away by Chris Ryan is probably nearer the mark.

It even interviewed , Peter ratcliffe , an ex sas legend, that was the RSM of the SAS, in the gulf when Bravo-two-zero happened-or didn't .
He said it was bollocks.
Have you ever watched or read a book on peter ratcliffe ?
He is the hardest bastard on the planet imo.
People was pretending to be him, in the army clubs, sad twats.
Top bloke-warrior though.

During the Gulf War, Chris Ryan was the only member of an eight-man SAS unit ( Bravo Two Zero ) to escape from Iraq, where three colleagues were killed and four were captured, including Andy McNab. It was the longest escape and evasion in the history of the SAS. For this he was awarded the Military Medal.
What is unique about Ryan is that he wasn't actually a regular squaddie. He joined the SAS selection process via the TA and as such he was eyed with suspicion by the rest of the group as a possible weak link. In reality he managed to navigate his way overland, mainly at night, to reach the Syrian border.
One of the McGann brothers played him in the TV adaptation of his extraordinary feat of endurance.

Your right, and even" the hardest man on Earth said so".
He said Chris didn't need to lie, because it was fucking incredible what he did.
Something like a couple of marathons in the night, to get away to Syria.
Pure mental strength , He was the hero, do you agree RT ?

Yes. What Ryan achieved was a great feat of endurance. I have no doubt that McNab was a good soldier but he ended up banged up in an Iraqi prison until the war ended.

Yes , Ryan was seeing his own Daughter , walking with him in the desert. Due to extortion .
