Didn't see him apart from telly highlights but he seemed a steady defender and perhaps just what we need. More astute work from Dougie and Lennie from the look of it.

According to Blackpool fans his natural position is in the Centre.bwfc1874 wrote:Looks like a good signing, Blackpool fans don't seem too pleased.
Is he better at center back or full back?

At 5'11'' he's a little short for CB IMO.Triumph wrote:According to Blackpool fans his natural position is in the Centre.bwfc1874 wrote:Looks like a good signing, Blackpool fans don't seem too pleased.

It's a ploy by the mods to make you post more.

Yes that is true - meant in a good way though!
Hello and welcome first though.
For a bit of fun we put in a sort of Bolton legends ranking system in that the more posts you make the more the picture at the side of your name change.
We had to start somewhere so we decided to go with our current leg end - Mr Nogoals himself to kick everyone off until they got to 25 posts (I think it is without checking) before you got a new and slightly better player and so on up to you get into Nat Lofthouse territory.
Just a bit of fun as I say - hope you don't mind - if you do get posting!

DERBY County were not willing to meet Alex Baptiste’s “eye-watering” wage demands, according to chief executive Sam Rush.
The Rams were keen to sign Baptiste, who is available on a free transfer when his contract at Blackpool expires this summer.
However, the defender is set to join Bolton Wanderers instead.
“He is someone that we asked about,” said Rush.
“I spoke to his agent and with the best will in the world, the money he was asking for was eye-watering.
“I don’t think many clubs in our division could afford him.
“There is a difference between ambition and bad management.
“I don’t think Derby fans would have thanked me for bringing him in on that kind of money.”
Bolton have the benefit of a second year of parachute payments following their relegation from the Premier League last season.

Not sure what Derbys wage bill is like but I imagine this guy has just become one of the top earners at the club.

Who told you that?
I didn't think we'd be paying wages like that at the moment.
But I suppose we got him for free.

That is a lot of money, If we're paying him £22K a week.
I was speaking to my neighbour this morning, he knows James Chester, who plays for Hull. Apparently, he earns £7K a week, no doubt his wage will shoot up, now that Hull are in the Premier.

If its £22,000 a week then he'll get £1,144,000 a year - still cheaper than buying someone of his quality and then paying their wages.
