Peterborough had the highest away fan average of the Championship last season and if you haven't been the away end is a standing terrace.

The average number was 2,045.

Does this prove anything?

Or did folk want to go because they thought they had a good chance of winning or seeing a high scoring game?

Was Bolton's result there 5-4?

I prefer my armchair in front of the telly personally. But there is no doubt that standing seems to create a better atmosphere. Silly really though that standing or sitting down would make such a difference.

I believe, that the Bolton fans went mob handed, because it was pissing down and they had a ruck with the Boro lot.

I prefer to stand, particularly at away games and its about time there was a standing area at grounds. The situation that exists now, especially for away fans is ridiculous with most standing in a seated area and the stewards don't enforce the rules. It would be better for those that want to stand to have their own section then those that want to sit can do so in peace.

I don't understand why people want to stand. Who wants to stand up for 90 minutes anywhere?

If you were on bus or a train you wouldn't stand up if there were spare seats. If you were in a cinema or a restaurant you wouldn't dream of standing up.

Yet people seem to want to stand at football games. Weird.

Standing is better imo.

I have to agree with you. I hate standing still, its a chore, especially when you are big boned.
I was at the motor show a few years ago and there wasn't anywhere to sit all day, I was so fed up. It was the first time I saw a wheelchair user and thought I wish we could swap places pal.

at Burnden you could only sit in the Stand, but you could stand everywhere else

I agree, it's crackers. Football should be enjoyed, sat peacefully on a chair.
People seem to think it improves the atmosphere, yet I've never read a theory as to why. Can you only sing, shout and clap when you're stood up?
The only time I want to stand is where the pitch is at eye-level like the bottom seats at Ewood.
