Fair enough, I suppose out of the 3 new ones, EP3 was the best and an argument can be made for it being the 2nd best of them all to be honest.

Episode 2 was just a waste of time in my opinion.

I thought Episode I was weaker than Episode II, for 3 simple reasons

1) Jar Jar Binks was a major character in Episode I
2) No screen time for the Sith/not enough lightsaber fun
3) The dynamic between Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor didn't work for me as well as that between McGregor and Christensen.

Aye fair points, they both had there downfalls which were dissapointing considering what Lucas could have done with all 3 films when making them.

Couldn't and still can't figure out why R2D2 was able to fly in Ep 1,2 and 3 but could do sweet F.A in the originals....nit picking I know.

I've considered that with R2-D2 but I would throw it back and ask if you can think of a scene in the original trilogy where he would need to fly. I couldn't think of one.

I have only seen seven of the films from your list so we are clearly worlds apart when it comes to favourite films. It is well documented that my fave film of all time is 'Back To The Future', an utter genius of a film and one I never tire of watching.

Recent films I've really enjoyed have been Machete, Limitless & The Town.

The best film of all time has to be Trading Places, close;y followed by Quadrophenia.

One flew over the Cuckoos nest was a brilliant film. Discovering that Will Sampson wasn't deaf and mute and watching him rip that sink apart was quite a scene.

The Unforgiven and Open Range were two good westerns. The shoot out at the end of Open Range was really well choreographed.

Very interesting you should highlight the bit about discovering that the Chief wasn't deaf and dumb being a key part of that movie. It just shows how clever the screenplay was, because the novel on which the film is based, written by Ken Kesey, is told from the Chief's perspective and begins with an internal monologue. You can see why it won the Oscar for best adapted screenplay. In fact it also won best film, best director for Milos Foreman, best actor for Jack Nicholson and best actress for Louise Fletcher - the first film ever to win all the big 5 Oscars I think.

I tip my hat to you natasha, a woman after my own heart, I could quite easily watch all 3 'back to the futures' in one go.

A recent film that I really like is 'Taken' and looking forward to the second film later this year.

I love Back to the Future and Back to the Future Part II. Less keen on III. The love story between Doc and Clara pissed me off.

Back to the Future II is the only film I've attempted to see at the cinema and couldn't get in because it was full. The one on Bradshawgate that's now a load of rip off flats.

Which seven of mine have you seen?

I've only seen The Town out of the three you mention. Not bad. The action scenes were above average, but it's not going to win any awards.

It was 8 actually:

Jackie Brown, Planes Trains & Automobiles, The Empire Strikes Back, The Wizard of Oz, Gone Baby Gone, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

To be honest I've only really become a film lover in the last few years and I haven't bothered to go back and watch some of the classics - I'm sure most of the ones on your list are ace.

I seem to have a rather large collection of Science Fiction books. Looked in one of the boxes the other day, and I see it cost me 1/6 (One shilling and sixpence, 7.5 p in todays currency.

I have several Mad & Cracked Magazines from my youth - I lent one to a friend of mine and the barsteward hasn't returned it! These were bought in the mid-eighties and if they don't become valuable one day they will make an excellent fire.
