There were definitely strippers at Scamps for a short while before home matches on a Saturday - I think it probably only last a few months if that iirc.

I've never really been a fan of strippers, they all seemed like rough old dogs back in the day but the rest of the lads wanted to go and watch so I went as well.

My local (well, where we used to all meet up) was the Trotters. I can't actually remember watching strippers there but it wouldn't surprise me if they performed upstairs there at one time or another.

Went more for the disco and the girls - many happy nights back then.

So long ago now.

I'm pretty sure they were on at a pub called The Trotters which was facing The Alma and was pulled down many years ago. There's a car showroom there now. Scamps is indeed where the Lido used to be but was a disco and was never open during the day. Pretty sure I'm right. Doesthis ring any bells with anyone else.

Trotters strippers were on Thursdsy night but definitely match day dinner in Scamps if that's what it was called. Lasted for about two seasons at most after some argy bargy with some away fans resulted in plod action IIRC.
Trust me Im a wanker!

Yes, I remember the Aspen. Do you remmeber the Boneyard?
Also remember seeing Tommy Cooper at Farnworth Casino. There was also a Westhoughton Casino and the master of ceremonies was a guy called Gerry Dorsey - later changed his name to Engelbert Humperdink.
