Question is why are they telling everybody that he's not for sale? Answer is that they have to find £5.5mil by the end of the month and they can't offload any of their other crap players.


Should Big Ed dip into his pockets to help out our Lancashire brothers at the end of the month? £6mil is he worth it? Does Big Ed have it?

Alan Nixon seems to believe that we will bid for Rhodes just before they have to pay the next installment. Whether or not our bid will be enough only time will tell

I don't think they do have to find the full £5.5 million at the end of the month.

If I've understood what Nixon had been saying it is only £2.5 million of the remaining £5.5 million still outstanding. The final instalment becomes due in several months time.

However IF Rhodes is sold the full £5.5 million becomes immediately payable.

His 'speculation' as been along the lines that IF Blackburn can't sell someone and raise the £2.5 million owed at the end of this month, then Blackburn may have to sell Rhodes anyway in order to meet the debt (which would then become the full amount of £5.5 million).

Hope that makes sense but it does look to me that Rhodes will have to be sold in January even if they somehow manage to raise the £2.5 million this month.
