I'm not sure if this is just a wind up or serious? Surely you can't be serious about sacking the manager 3 games into the season It's a marathon not a sprint, I believe that DF is the manager to get us back to the prem with an experienced backroom staff he will deliver he just needs time!kennster wrote:With our worryingly bad performances continuning when do we think it is the right and fair time to pull the trigger?

Certainly not the right time at the moment, some will be saying he should walk if we lost next week but you can't go sacking managers after 3/4 games.
If we are in the relegation zone come december/january then I will probably agree with the freedman out boo boys.

We've gone down this road . sacking Managers ,and its not made one little bit of difference has it .
Other than make us look like twats.
I think the problem is above , the board surly are to blame, you can't just keep sacking managers while they are upstairs eating a prawn sandwich and talking bollocks.

I don't mean now I mean if our form doesn't improve (I presume and I hope it does) then when is it the right time to sack a manager?

As Natasha says.....here's another bloke who brings in players and sits them on the bench. To boot the ones brought in don't look any better than the ones shipped out.
I can't even hazard a guess at the team for the next game ....no Pratts for starters.

Last season was the golden chance - it was such a shit league - I mean hull and palace going up says it all. I think it's going to be difficult now for bolton to get back into the big time. This is without doubt the worst bolton team I remember for almost 20 years. Shite defence, shite midfield and strikers who can't score.
I don't blame dougie, it's not like he has had any money to spend.

6 Freedman signings played today (7 if you include Spearing).terenceanne wrote:As Natasha says.....here's another bloke who brings in players and sits them on the bench. To boot the ones brought in don't look any better than the ones shipped out.

Tierney better than Alonso
Baptiste better than Mears
C Davies better than SKD
Medo better than Andrews
I think what you've said there is a load of bollocks to be honest.
As for the question itself, we've lost one game and had a disastrous day all round. Sack Dougie and we are truly fucked though, whoever comes in will be worse. At the moment he's the best we can hope for unless anybody has any suggestions?

I'd sack him tomorrow because I know he's going to be a disaster.
Notts Forest & Bolton had almost identical seasons last time out - pisspoor until February then a change of manager brought a push for the play-offs that failed on the last day.
Unfortunately one manager built on that to produce an attacking team that looks the business right now, the other has put together a worse team with no flair or real attacking ability.
Who was it who said Billy Davies should be our manager?
People say Freedman should be given time, but how much time does one need to realise Zat Knight is a fooking liability? How long does a manager need to work out that playing with one striker doesn't suit our style?
Freedman might not have had the millions Megson and even Coyle had - but he has had money and it's all been spent on shit. Three games in and how many of the new signings look good?

Tierney isn't even in the same league as Alonso. Usually I give players time to settle in before passing judgement, but he is by far the worst player I have seen in a Bolton shirt ever.

Im amazed you think that to be honest, I think he's slotted in well. Not bad in the air, whips a good ball in and good in the tackle. He needs to get tighter at times but defensively he's an improvement on Alonso for me.OneFinFreedman wrote:Tierney isn't even in the same league as Alonso. Dougie shouldn't be here. There was nothing on his CV to suggest he was going to get us promoted, just blind hope that a half decent spell at Crystal Palace wasn't about them having a forward good enough for Man Utd
We've seen this summer he doesn't know the transfer market well enough to bring in quality freebies and the players he has aren't as organised as well as they should be.No way is 2 points from 9 the best these players can achieve, they aren't being managed to their potential. As Billy Davies said Bolton have quality players for this level of football.

He put together a side that got promoted last year, clearly not down to one player, do you know anything about that Palace team?Dougie shouldn't be here. There was nothing on his CV to suggest he was going to get us promoted, just blind hope that a half decent spell at Crystal Palace wasn't about them having a forward good enough for Man Utd
Beckford is about as good a 'freebie' as you'll get at championship level, writing him off after 3 games is embarrassing. Same goes for Baptiste Tierney and Hall. We've seen this summer he doesn't know the transfer market well enough to bring in quality freebies
He showed at Palace he's good in the transfer market, Glenn Murray, Bolasie, Jedinak all cheap quality signings that will play a big part for them in the premier league this season and all signed by Dougie.
Medo is a great signing, he convinced Jay Spearing to take a wage cut and come back, same goes for Beckford.
No it's not, and we will improve. But draws away to Burnley and at home to Reading are decent enough results for the beginning of the season, we've had one disastrous day where; although we didn't play well, everything went against us and we lost away to a side that's going to be up there. No way is 2 points from 9 the best these players can achieve, they aren't being managed to their potential.
You need to get real, the club has big problems and we're not a premier league side anymore. The first team squad is very similar in quality to a lot of sides in the championship, we're not going to win every week! Under very difficult constraints he's trying to change the club from top to bottom, one loss and you come out with this. Do me a favour.

Tierney is not better than Alonso ....the other three I'll give you. However based on what I saw today Medo might be a bit of a donkey and there seemed to be a lot of open space for their wingers with our fullbacks nowhere to be seen.bwfc1874 wrote:6 Freedman signings played today (7 if you include Spearing).terenceanne wrote:As Natasha says.....here's another bloke who brings in players and sits them on the bench. And for those that like stats.... we are 19th in the table with less points than we had under OC at the same time last season. Fancy any points against QPR ???

It wouldn't surprise me if Freedman walked away and parted company with us, the board's not backed him with the players we wanted , and if our board have no ambition to get promoted , then he's onto a loser straight away.
This club won't get promoted and get twatted by QPR at the weekend is my prediction .
