Such a limited setting needs a top notch script.
Will probably buy the DVD in Poundland later in the summer.

Why waste even a quid if it's shite?

Are you a collector of Peter Kay stuff or just shite in general Bonce? Very Happy

I found Kay, really, really funny when he first hit the big time with his stand up (build a bunglow for my mum - or something like that) tour and his two seasons of Phonix Nights... but nothing else since.

I didn't like Max and Paddy, his other stand up tours, anything at all.  So much so that I saw his most recent show was on iplayer and have not troubled even having a gander at it.

Comedy's answer to Michael Ricketts I guess - great for a short while - then nothing else since.

Pity really - I still laugh at clips of Phoenix Nights.

Shame it turned out the way it has - imo.

The mum wants a bungalow tour was the best along with the Phoenix Nights comedy show, Max & Paddy's road to nowhere wasn't too bad although quite cheesy at times.

God knows what that Britain's got the pop factor jesus christ or whatever it was called was about, that really was shite.

His other stand-ups have been the same regurgitated stuff.

He's a flop now, a one time wonder.

Someone bought me a 'Stand-up UKay' DVD for my birthday, and it's all just another money making rehash of his earlier stuff.
Complete waste of time, but puts another few bob in his pockets.

Did anybody watch Nigel Farage tonight? I thought he gave a good account of himself but I can't help feeling that a vote for UKIP is probably a wasted vote.

i must be in the minority but i enjoyed Car share, it's not laugh out loud humour like Phoenix Nights, its a lot subtler than that but i still liked it

i've been too scared to say the same thing.  it's the little radio quips for me.  it could have probably done without the drifting off into music video segments but overall i thought it was good.

I desperately wanted to like it,but found it hard going. There's some good things still to come from PK I'm sure, but I don't think this one is a runner.
But each to his own. I love Laurel & Hardy,my work mate thinks they're rubbish. Hey ho. jocolor

The Goldbergs on E4.

Loving it.

My era growing up in't th'eighties, so it resonates with me.

And also I now take my pants off as soon as I cross the threshold of our house like the Dad does in the show so that's obviously another plus in my book - I'm normal despite what Mrs B says.

The trouble with you Breadders is that you take them off as you cross the threshold out of your house!

Bonce has pics! Very Happy

Nope - Yanky.

But it's still good because it's my era and me and The Boss watch it and both say "Ah yes! I had one of them!"

Be it Rubik's Cubes, Nintendo consoles, Whitesnake posters, Hula Hoops (not me), tape recorders or over-bearing Mothers.

Not ground-breaking telly but it puts a smile on my face.

Tough week for you, mate.

Hope you're ok.

Cheers mate. Funeral went well despite my mobile going off in the church. Everyone had been instructed to come in their footy shirt,so I was a solitary White in the middle of a Toon army, and when 'Amarillo' poured forth, there was no hiding place. Got a laugh though, and my mate would have loved it.
Will check out The Goldbergs.
Must get a colour telly!

From what you've said this week and previously, your mate sounds like he was a funny bastard with a decent handle on this life and what it's all about.

And I'm sure you take solace from that fact, now he's gone.

Chin up fella.

Cheers. Great City is Newcastle.
Those Toon lads made sure I saw the best of it.
And you're right Bread,he was a great lad,a laugh was never far away, and usually at the expense of the Wanderers. Gonna miss his texts when we lose.
The last line of the letter he left me was a quote from 'Shawshank'......'Get busy living,or get busy dying'.
In other words, get on with it!
Good mates are hard to come by.
