Bolton boss Dougie Freedman wants to help out Wilfried Zaha - by signing him on loan from Manchester United, writes Alan Nixon in the Sunday People.

Freedman was Zaha's manager and mentor at Crystal Palace and guided the exciting winger on his way to a big-money move to Old Trafford.

However Zaha's high-flying career has stalled dramatically as he drops out of the United squad and slipped from the England seniors to the under-21 side.

Boss David Moyes, who inherited Zaha from Sir Alex Ferguson, is not giving up on Zaha just yet but may let him out to play.

Zaha is in the reserves and even missed out on the Champions League trip to Ukraine as his stock hits an all-time low at United.

The emergence of wonder boy Adnan Januzaj - and Moyes's need to use him - has pushed Zaha a place further out of the queue for a game.

Freedman would take Zaha for a month - or more - if it helps his club, United and the player at a difficult time.

That would be a decent move, a decent player we could make use of

Yes please. All day long and preferably for the rest of the season. He's got real class and he tore this division apart for palace and dougie so he'd probably do it again here for the same manager.

No brainer, if he's willing to come we should drive to OT to pick him up.

Dougie would probably play him at left back.

I'll bang my knockers in Zaha's face! He'll want to come then!

lol!

Would be a good morale booster if we got him on loan for a bit.

I dont think a month will be of use, DF will still be bringing him up to full fitness.

Like he has been with Danns, Feeney and McNaughton? Oh right...

Would be a good signing if we could make it, but it's a pretty obvious link for a paper to make, considering Dougie's connection. Wouldn't surprise me if there was no truth in it at all.

My one concern if it did happen would be over Rob Hall who's certainly a similar style of player, it would be a perfect example of our own talent suffering for a short term fix.

Seems he only signs his mates, poor show.

Please sign someone of inferior quality that you haven't managed before instead.

Apparently Newcastle are favourites to get him on loan as he wants Premiership football to boost his England claim.
Playing at the foot of the championship won't do much for him.
He left the top of the championship for better things so he's not likely to return to a worse situation

I thought the loan window wasn't for premiership teams?

We're only just in October, so a loan move for Zaha would be ideal now, If Dougie can pull this one off.

Stood out at this level last year, mouth watering prospect is it crazier than getting Wilshire or Sturridge?

I still think he's overhyped. Yes he did have a good championship season and managed to get a high profile transfer out of it, but he's clearly not competing for a place at OT and maybe he's been found out?
Feeney looks like keeping his place until he returns to Millwall so maybe Dougie's looking for a replacement there, but if not bringing Zaha in would probably mean Eagles and Hall getting pushed aside at a time when we need our wide players to step up and start doing the business.

I'm not saying Zaha hasn't got potential, just wondering if he'd be the right move for us now that we've started to show some improvement and play with a bit more width.

He's the only reason Dougie was successful at Palace though?
