I'm with Wander on this one. He's a poacher, and needs to work off others. On his own won't work. However, if we go narrow our wings would be wide open, leaving their attack a free run to our defence, and we KNOW thats not a good thing

Would you start Klasnic against Villa?

Klasnic has to start in our remaining games IMO, we need goals to get out the crapper and he is only one who seems to have a nack of being in the right place at the right time.
Have him alongside Ngog to all the donkey work and supply him with the ball when ever it comes near the box in a 4-4-2 formation and have NRC with Muamba in the centre with 2 wingers supplying the balls in for Ivan.

From a goalscoring point of view, I don't think Klasnic is as dangerous as most people think.
He started every game from Stoke (H) to Wolves (H) between which he went 7 games (8 if you don't count the penalty he scored at West Brom) without scoring a goal. He never even looked like scoring a goal during this period.

Listen Statto, let me see how many actual chances Klasnic had in that time? None perhaps? I can't think of a single game all season where Klasnic missed a sitter.
If we create the chances Klasnic will put them away - your continual shite about Klasnic is making me think you are Emma Davies.

The whole reason for our demise has been that we have tried to become an attacking team..
This worked at the start of last season because we managed to out score a lot of our opponents, but that's a risky strategy and failed at the end of last season and beginning of this.
We NEED a solid defence if were going to stay up. We go 4-4-2 for 90 mins with players like Klasnic who doesn't help the team at all and eagles who constantly gives away the ball our defence will be destroyed, this is such simple stuff and its the very thing that a lot of people abused Coyle for.
When we changed to 4-4-2 against QPR we scored, yes, but we also underwent a barrage of pressure and QPR shots, we would never last that over 90 mins.
The best tactic is to start 4-5-1, and if by the 60th min we still need a goal we can change to 4-4-2.
Think about it this way round, if 4-4-2 fails we usually let in 2-3 goals and can't do anything to win.
If 4-5-1 fails we will most likely only be drawing or losing by 1 goals, and changing to 4-4-2 for a FINAL PUSH can save the game. (please no example of big losses against City and Chealsea when playing 4-5-1, thats a ridiculous argument.)
Going of the QPR performance Klasnic should play if we need a goal, but he should not start.
I can't believe that for the amount of abuse Coyle got for playing relentless 4-4-2 so many of you want it back, how is Coyle meant to win? for the record I thought his tactics were perfect against QPR, give credit where credit is due.

You introduced stats into this, Shittam.
As previously discussed, it's not as straightforward as 'Klasnic can only finish off what's put on his plate'.
How good we are off the ball determines how much possession we have over 90 minutes, and ultimately how many chances we're able to create over 90 minutes.
Also, as mentioned in my last post, how immobile Klasnic is makes him a difficult striker for midfielders to supply. The majority of his goals don't even come from a good ball from midfield.

They can slag Klasnic off all they want but at least he knows where the goal is. I just knew he would score when Ryo played that killer pass to him. The reality is, that Klasnic is a luxury while we are propping up the foot of the table. If we were safe from relegation he would be on the teamsheet more often. He is a luxury that we just can't afford in our current predicament.
I like Ngog because hje has ploughed a lone furrow up front for most of the season but if you want to go off stats then Klasnic is our leading scorer with eight and Ngog has played more games.
The argument between 4-5-1 and 4-4-2 will go on till the end of the season. Far better to take one game at a time and play the format that is most likely to produce results given the opposition.
Coyle messed up big time at home against Wigan IMO. He should have stuck with 4-5-1. A draw against Wigan would have been better than gifting them all three points.
On a positive note, Ryo will get better with each game. He is not afraid to take players on and the more he plays the fitter he will get.
ream is much quicker than Knight and must retain his place with Wheater. It takes time to adjust from MLS to the Prem and we shouldn't be too harsh on Ream because I think he will come good.
I said at the start of the season that Bogdan had the makings of a good keeper and I stand by that. If we can survive this season we have the nucleus of a decent squad. Time will tell.
