I'm off work at the moment, waiting for my next contract to start in March.

Apart from wasting all day on here, I'm also watching a fair bit of shit telly.

Today's offering from Jeremy Kyle is some fat bint who is accusing her Fiancé of sleeping with his own brother.

Think about that one and let it sink in fully.......

Infidelity....with his own brother.

My question is a simple one: When did pointless shit like this become the staple of day-time telly?

When I was a kid, if you were off school ill, the only programmes on were the educational stuff in the morning (How we used to live, Look & Read and Scene), Pebble Mill / The Sullivans at lunchtime then a bit of racing on BBC2 in the afternoon.

How did we get here and can I somehow blame Thatcher?

I can't stand the programme. It's chock full of societies detritus.

I know of someone who was in the audience for one of Kyle's shows and apparantly before the show starts he lays into nearly every single audience member for one reason or another.

A horrible and deluded man by all accounts.

I have been in the audience for a Jeremy Kyle show. Through no fault of my own. My friend was going with her grandmother who had the shits, so I took her place, as an act of kindness.

He didn't lay into the audience as such, but he was sickeningly smug.

I used to watch the programme occasionally but it's too painful now. If you've seen one you've seen them all.

That twat from Derby and his trollop wife who set fire to their house and killed six of their kids was a participant iirc. When you see shit like this it's easy to see why we shipped off all our shite to Australia in years gone by.
