Currently avoiding extradition to South Africa on the grounds that his safety cannot be guaranteed. Sectioned in a high security mental hospital in the UK while his solicitors do their utmost to prevent him from standing trial.

Whatever the outcome, I think he is guilty.

Funny how the owner of TVshack was extradited with minimal fuss, yet terrorists, murderers, and religious fanatics who want to kill our citizens are able to stay here.

clearly copyright offenses are worse in this day and age, than murder, incitement to kill and religious extremism.

Some old codger from the home counties got extradited to the USA for selling components for WMD to the Iranians and he is now in maximum security. The fact that he was a legitimate registered dealer and sold the items through a third party with no ties to Iran has cut no ice with the authorities.

We have that one eyed bastard with the hook who spouted hatred on our soil on a daily basis and is wanted on terrorism charges in Africa, but we can't deport under EU law.

As Jimmy Greaves often said, " It's a funny old game."

Thats because under the current treaty with the US, the US can claim extradition rights just on a whim, without much of a fight from the UK government, whereas the other way around we need complete solid proof before we can extradite people from the US.

Other extradition treaties with other nations are not as soft and as such do take months, if not years for things to happen, or not happen.

Basically the US have a stranglehold over us and we can do nothing about it - Thankyou Labour (Tony Blair!)

He may be classed as "mental" but I notice he still had the sound mind to employ Max Clifford.

And ............... unbelievably! The High Court in London today ruled that he is mentally unfit to be sent to South Africa to stand trial!

He will now remain ad infinitum in a secure mental unit until such time as his mental situation improves. He may have escaped justice for the moment but he will be under constant scrutiny and at some point he will get fed up with playing the role of R.P. McMurphy.
