Two goals in as many minutes handed Wanderers all three points on their last winning visit to Elland Road in November 2003.

Kevin Davies struck first after 16 minutes before Stelios doubled the advantage and the Whites held on to win 2-0 against a managerless Leeds United.

The Yorkshire side were already enduring a torrid start to the season and were rock bottom of the Premier League table going into the game under the stewardship of caretaker boss Eddie Gray.

Any hopes of Leeds building up a head of steam were extinguished inside the first 20 minutes. First, Wanderers striker Davies pounced after Ricardo Gardner had picked up a poor Michael Duberry clearance to fire past Paul Robinson.

Then, within the blink of an eye, Greek midfielder Stelios doubled the advantage after Davies had turned provider.

The Whites weathered the Leeds storm and had Jussi Jaaskelainen to thank for his own stunning save to keep out Viduka’s header 18 minutes from time.

It meant Wanderers held on for a big three points in the battle to avoid the drop.
