Not sure if its still the case, but is the morning assembly, or whatever it goes by nowadays, is decided by the largest number of either language or ethnic group? I mention this because My aunt who lived in the East end of London, (near Brick Lane), over 40 years ago, was told that the morning assembly was held in Urdu, (or whatever the majority was), due to the number of children who had that as a first language, and if she complained further, her son would be put out of the school.

Now that does make me angry,this country has gone to shit.

I read the report yesterday evening and this is the conclusion I came to, and it is shocking.

It is saying that more than 50% of the children who are struggling with English are of actual BRITISH origin, ie non-immigrant!!!  

Therefore out of 779 children struggling 392 are British (51%).

I blame the parents and Cbeebies for relying to much on the pre-school programmes that teach anything but English (or any other language)

There again I did grow up with Tots TV (and that had French as well as English)!

If only our MP's would table a motion to make Urdu compulsory in Primary schools in the north west it would put a stop to all this nonsense.

There's a massive difference between being "indiginous English" and being "English born to foreign parents."


That's where the problem lies for me......


By all means speak Urdu or Polish or whatever at home, but make sure your kids can speak English before they start school.


Why should I as a tax-payer have to fork out extra money, just because these kids come from an environment where English is hardly spoken?


If they want free education for their kids, the least they should be doing is ensuring that they can actually communicate with the English speaking teachers in our schools.


But you can't say that nowadays can you because it's racist....?
