We need a Captain

i still think Spearing is the best man for the job, but his form needs to get back to the days when we first took him on loan, he has been a shadow of that this season.

I would love it if Stuey Holden defied the odds and came back to lead us to glory.

I put Spearing too.  However I do agree with Norpig ..... He might be a good Captain but on the field he needs to improve.  That never stopped Fat Boy Nolan though

People are dreaming if they think Holden will ever start a game for BWFC again - absolutely amazing the club are considering keeping him on.

I care a small deal about who the captain is.

It's not like people need an elasticated band on their arm to be able to organise and motivate others.

Spearing certainly comes across as the best leader though.

Spearing for me as well, he really is a team player.

I can't see Holden ever kicking a ball for us again to be honest although it is a shame.

I agree, the guy has a plastic knee.

I mean if he comes back it'll only be a couple of games until he is out for months again.

Do you think that the reason that the club are holding talks with Stuey instead of waving him off at the station are to secure his services in a non-playing role?

It's a possibility.

Spearing when used correctly is immense for this team.When he plays the holding role does not venture past half way line ,just breaks up attacks then passes to say Mavies or Danns example,Watford,Blackburn,Leeds in a 4-4-2

True but his passing has been woeful at times and he's been guilty of handing over possession and turning attack into defence far too frequently this season so he needs to up his game - especially in a system which requires us to make the most of attacking opportunities which are few and far between.

Spearing my captain still but Dave Wheats would be a very able deputy in my opinion, already done it for Middlesbrough

Zat Knight was the team captain.

Spearing first choice. Medo second. But medo is still a bit petulant.

Pointless role, may as well give it to Lofty.

To coin a well-worn cliche, we need "leaders all over the park" although I'd prefer one leader and 6 forward players who can pass and shoot.
