I'm sure you've mentioned Guidetti a few times Boggers but I don't get it. I don't think his situation has changed - or has it? As far as I know he's back at City after failing to impress at Stoke.
Maybe he'll be a great striker one day, Swedish international perhaps, but right now he isn't. Have you heard anything to suggest he might come to us on loan?

Sport in a storm have a small article on this that can be found using news now or [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I personally think this is bollocks and he doesn't look that impressive from when he had a stint at Stoke, he is of the age of 22 aswell.

He did however score 20 goals in 23 appearances when he was on loan at Feyenoord in the 11/12 season though!

I believe Guidetti tale is bollocks. Juke main target and maybe Mason later. Either Parr or Moxey likely but Parr preferred as he is more flexible and covers more positions.

The official twitter account for the skybet championship reported the guidetti loan. I doubt it's bollocks...

"Bolton to break bank to get Guidetti!"

How can you break something that's already broken?

Watch this space as they say.

We'll end up with juke and someone like mason/guidetti for next seasons front two. Happy with that?

With Cardiff chasing/signing strikers like they're going out of fashion Mason finds himself being pushed further and further down the pecking order. Mason didn't even warm the bench after he returned from us so seems not to be fancied by Solksjaer (spelling ?). Anything can happen if he becomes unsettled and in the knowledge that Dougie will welcome him with open arms.

I wouldn't sign Mason.

He did well in his second spell, but we need some pace upfront if we're going to compete.

I understand your thinking Nat but suspect Dougie will revert to form in playing someone in the hole behind Juke (if we sign him or similar) as he did in the successful run late last season. Which was Mason's most successful period with us. We are looking for at least 2 strikers to  compete with/push Beckford.
Who was it said 'You can never have enough strikers'!

Somewhat agree with Nat...... but my observation was that Mason always seemed to be at the right place at the right time. He didn't put the chances away enough ...which is why he is not top flight. But I would still fancy him scoring a good few for us depending the Doogies magic system of course.  Ngog had plenty of pace but not much else.

I'm also so-so about Mason - tidy player but not exceptional pace or ruthlessness. Guidetti rumour is interesting though obviously we should be looking to recruit if poss. Early days yet - although it doesn't seem like it with Dougie having got 5 in so quickly.

Shame. Could have been interesting. Still we expect nothing although every time a name is linked we sit up and pay attention.
Bring on the next disappointment.

I have to agree with your point about Mason. Ready made goal scorers cost the amounts of money that we don't have and therefore have to gamble on young talent making good.

Doubt Dougie will revert to two up top unless he has a "Road to Damascus" moment. His cautious nature will kick in with one up front and one in the hole

Guidetti could be a coup 20 in 23 for Feyenoord in the Erdivisie in Holland,a division I would put on parr with the Championship.Maybe 3-4 really good sides Ajax,Feyenoord and one or two I can't think of. But if City bought him he must have something about him.I suppose it's wether the guy has superstar syndrome or not.I think a first class forward would be worth a punt!

Yeah but Keegan reckons it isn't happening.

Manchester City's Sweden striker John Guidetti is not on Bolton Wanderers wish list

Wanderers are not looking at a loan deal for Manchester City striker John Guidetti.

The Bolton News understands reports yesterday linking the Whites with a season-long move for the Swedish 22-year-old are wide of the mark.

Guidetti is a Sweden international but has spent most of his time at the Etihad Stadium out on loan at clubs including Burnley, Feyenoord and Stoke last season.

City are reportedly keen to keep hold of the young forward but open to a loan to get him regular first-team games.

But the Whites are not thought to be in the running with boss Dougie Freedman stressing at the end of last season he wanted to look to more permanent deals and less loan signings.

Meanwhile, it is also believed there is no interest from the Whites in released Crystal Palace defender Dean Moxey at present.

Freedman knows the left-back well after his time in charge at Selhurst Park and did enquire about taking the 28-year-old on loan in February but was rebuffed in his attempts.

Moxey has now been released by the Eagles but it does not appear Wanderers have renewed their interest as yet, despite speculation linking them with a renewed approach.

Not heard anything about any club showing interest in our dead wood that is still in contract like Cavies or Andrews yet.
Dougie is probably at the sell to buy stage again.
