Are you doing your own batter or are you being lazy and going to your local chippy?

Wooden fork, out of the paper watching the sun go down?
It's the only way.......
Anyroad, tonight we had River Cobbler fillets in parsley sauce with boiled Jersey Royals and garden peas.
Served with fresh crusty bread and a big mug of tea.
Smashing.

They never tasted as good after they were told to stop wrapping them up in newspaper!Breadman wrote:Wooden fork, out of the paper watching the sun go down?

Not a fan of River Cobbler seems tasteless to me.

River cobbler is injected with the dehydrated urine of pregnant women. This apparently makes the females grow much quicker and produce eggs faster.

I'm off to bed now (early start in the morning.)
The wife's already gone up to do her ablutions.
Can't wait to tell her what she had for tea.......
Nighty night.

Cod it is from now on.
(And please don't ruin Cod for us now. Whatever it is you know, keep it to yourself..... )

Stop it !!!!
You know very well that I've now got no choice other than to spend the next half an hour trawling the internet (see what I did there?) to find out about Cod and why I shouldn't eat it.
Is this part of some Veggie plot to get us all subsisting on lettuce and cabbage?
Bastards.....

All joking apart, I've just done some research on the recently maligned River Cobbler (Pangasius bocourti) and discovered that it's perfectly safe to eat and as far as having lady wee pumped into it goes, it is absolutely no different to any of the other commercially farmed fish we consume in this country with such gusto.
It's all legal and DEFRa are perfectly happy that there's no risk to us fish-eaters.
My concern now though, is for the fate of the ladies they farm for the wee.
I hope they're not cooped up in cramped pens and are allowed to roam free like them posh chickens.
I'd hate to think that the wee I'm eating has been sourced irresponsibly.

What I'd like to know is how they discovered injecting them with the piss of pregnant women was good for them in the first place. Not an idea that's likely to crop up in your average business meeting.

If you were to suggest such a notion you could be accused of taking the piss.
