Dougie Freedman has worked hard to guarantee a reunion with his former Crystal Palace full-back Dean Moxey.

The Wanderers boss got the 28-year-old in on a free transfer amidst interest from Wolves, Brighton and Leeds.

Moxey had been one of the Scot’s first signings at Selhurst Park – and he was delighted to unveil him as his seventh new arrival of the summer yesterday.

“I think fans will love his energy, getting forward, putting good crosses into the box,” he told The Bolton News. “He’s a player I know well and one who ticks that box for me at left-back, which is an area we’ve been looking to fill for quite a long time now.

“He adds that little bit of extra experience to the squad and I think he’s a fantastic signing. I’m really pleased we got him on board because I’m told there were a couple of clubs looking at him.”

Moxey boasts more than 350 career appearances, and spent his first six years in professional football at Exeter City.

He then moved on to Derby County before being signed by Freedman for £400,000 in January 2009.

Moxey tweeted from his official Twitter account last night: “Pleased to have finally sorted out my future and a new chapter in me and my family’s lives. Can’t wait to get started.

“Thanks to Wanderers and Palace fans for the messages. Looking forward to this part of my life.”

Meanwhile, Wanderers insist they have had no offer for goalkeeper Adam Bogdan despite talk of interest from German club FSV Mainz.

The Hungary international has 12 months remaining on his contract with the Whites but is expected to talk about extending his deal in the next few weeks.

Would rather have had Parr, but Moxey will do a job at this level and it finally gives us a bit more cover at LB. Safe to assume Freedman wants to play Ream at CB or CM, which is encouraging.

Solid if unspectacular signing to solve a problem.

Good signing and since the general consensus is that left back was a must get lets hope that it works out and he settles in quickly, well done Douglas now just the front line to sort out and we are good to go.
