To Hit the season running, we wanted a good start to the season and up to now our strongest team isn't good enough to stay up imo.

Do you trust Dougie, and the all mighty board ? will they have everything boxed off come the Watford game?

I've done a poll.

This is all you're getting, so get on with it & It'll get worse once we've picked up a few injuries.

Totally unprepared as usual.

If I was a betting woman I'd say we'll start slowly, Freedman will become under immense pressure, and the board will get rid sometime in October/November.

We won't be ready in time. We'll never be ready under Dougie.

I thought we were well ready for last season, and was obviously wrong.

The new players turned out to be bobbins, and players that ended the previous season well didn't hit the ground running.

The fans are just gonna be fuming if we start slowly yet again, and it could be as early as the first home game that the booing starts.

We're already 90% ready. A team of Bogdan, Mcnaughton, Wheater, Ream, Moxey, CYL, Danns, Spearing, Feeney, M.Davies and Beckford is more than capable of doing well in this league. With a bit of luck we can bring in another striker similar to juke to rotate with Beckford and Craig Davies.

Add to that players like hall, lliev, threlkeld, Riley, trotter, medo, dervite and pratley and we will be fine, I am very optimistic about the season.

It can't be any worse than last season can it? Well I hope not, I'm hoping this will be the season we challenge automatic promotion.

Suppose we've got to hope for the best. Getting my new shirt tomorrow so that might buck me up for ten minutes. ::bwfc::

I'm of the same mind as Boggers. Hope springs eternal.

I chose option 5 but strangely enough I am quite optimistic about the new season. Early days, but the style of play employed in the friendlies is not what I have become accustomed to and the youngsters do not look in the least bit out of place. One new decent striker and I think we can get into the play-offs.

(Now watch as my words prepare to come back to haunt me 10 games in!)

50/50 on it.....  Not Doogs fault that he has no money to build a proper team.  Going with the players we have should be good enough for midtable......maybe a little better dependent on Doog's tactics.
Inviting teams to come on to us will not work in the long run.....we shall see.

We have the players, if a striker is signed, to at least compete for the play-offs.

Unfortunately we have a manager who will have them playing defensively from the first kick at Vicarage Road, and who seems determined to put his faith in anonymous players like Mavies and Hall.

If I was manager we'd piss this league.

Stupid question.

Ready for what? Survival during a period of transition? That's the objective isn't it?

Yes we're ready for that and I don't think our manager could have done much more to prepare us for a survival battle under the circumstances.

i'm not ready that's for sure!I can't remember a time i have been this pessimistic about a new season. Mid table is the best we can look forward to this season.

It will be the same negative way of playing and very little entertainment but hey ho i'll still be there slumped in my seat

There are at least 6 teams who I'd say are better than us. If we can sneak into the play offs it will be a massive success, but I think another season of financial consolidation and mid table, followed by Dougies austerity being rewarded with a new 5 year deal.

The options in this question aren't mutually-exclusive. I went for 3 because he won't get any more money unless he sells, but I could also have gone for 1 (knows what he's doing as there's no evidence he doesn't despite the media constructs and amateur mind-reading speculation about what he's thinking) and 6 as it certainly will get tougher if we have injuries again.

There's no way we should be expecting any other than mid-table though.
