Leeds lost to Bradford tonight, the fans want rid if their conference manager. Another player was sent off for them too. Dirty Leeds. We might have a chance of not losing this...

The white shirt with the Macron brand will probably win. Where is the game being played? Leeds? Crap...

I hope Leeds don't sack their manager before the weekend. Defeat to a Leeds team managed by Dave Hockaday would really be a nail in Dougie's coffin.

Bullshit.luckyPeterpiper wrote:lusty you are either being deliberately obtuse or are in fact much less intelligent than I thought. I'm talking about an attitude, a mindset that has pervaded our team from the top down. The manager sets out a deeply negative stall, basically allowing the opposition to roam more or less at will and have the lion's share of possession.wanderlust wrote:luckyPeterpiper wrote:Just my point lusty, our confidence is on the floor so we fluff what chances we get because (in my honest opinion) Dougie's fearful approach and negative mindset is transmitting itself to the players. He believes they'll screw up and now they do so it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.wanderlust wrote:It's not as straightforward as that though. Not sure how it happens but we do get chances and have had the opportunity to win it in all the games so far apart from Watford.
Not enough chances IMO but we do seem to get them. And then fluff them.
So Cavies missing that sitter for example is the manager's fault?
You are hilarious.
HIs cautiousness and negativity is out of hand; I think even you can admit that and his FEAR of losing games overrides everything else so we don't go out on the attack even when we should. As a result of him projecting that mindset the players begin to believe instinctively that they aren't good enough and will make a mistake. Once that mindset takes hold it becomes difficult if not impossible to change it in the individual's mind from within.
I don't say Dougie should have scored Cravies chance but the fact Cravies fluffed it and we've fluffed most of the few chances we've created is a symptom of the problem we can all see if we look clearly. There's a deep seated lack of confidence within the club that stems from Dougie's office down just as if we had a more confident manager, one who would tell the players to go for it and enjoy themselves when we can you'd see an upswing in player confidence and in the way they play.
This is simple psychology; if the man in charge tells you you're rubbish even indirectly then you'll start to believe it. If he tells you you're awesome then your performance will improve as you subconsciously strive to match that assessment. You might not really BE awesome but if the boss says you are you're going to work harder and feel better about yourself than you will if he spends all his time telling you to play in Dougie's negative, boring, fearful style.
You said that "Dougie's fearful approach and negative mindset is transmitting itself to the players"
And now you write he's "Projecting his mind set"
So what's that then?
Hypnotism?
Vulcan mind meld?
Or just a load of tosh?
All this populist diatribe you spout at every opportunity is entirely predicated on your interpretation of "what Dougie thinks" but instead of having the balls to admit you haven't got the slightest clue about what Dougie thinks you have invented this entire persona for him.
And now he's "projecting his mind set"? Perhaps he's building an army of zombies with which to rule the world? Have you seen Scanners recently?
Us ordinary fans have no information whatsoever about "what Dougie thinks". We don't attend meetings and the media soundbites are rehearsed lines for PR purposes and therefore absolutely meaningless so either tell us the source of your obviously specialised information about the workings of the managers mind or stop writing this incessant bollocks about "what he thinks"...
Because it's not what he thinks - it's what you would like to think he thinks fabricated to support your spurious arguments.

Hockaday: Bolton game is huge now
Leeds head coach Dave Hockaday conceded Saturday's home clash with Bolton could be a must-win game for the sake of his future at Elland Road. Fresh doubt surrounded Hockaday's standing after Wednesday's 2-1 Capital One Cup second-round defeat to neighbours Bradford. Hockaday, who was given a reprieve by club president Massimo Cellino on Sunday night after the 4-1 loss at Watford looked like being his last game in charge, was reluctant to be drawn on growing speculation regarding his job. But having watched Leeds suffer a third straight defeat, their fourth in sixth outings this season, the former Forest Green Rovers boss remained upbeat ahead of what he knows is an important weekend. He said: "There's a thing called momentum and we need to get the ball rolling, so it's a huge game on Saturday. "Football is like that, you always want to win the next game. Of course the pressure stacks up, so it is a difficult place, not just for me but for the players. "But with the players I've got at my disposal we'll get them organised, we'll get them focused, we'll get them together and we'll have a go at Bolton - the aim is to get three points." The 56-year-old also maintained the Leeds players remain fully behind him, but admitted they have not helped themselves on the pitch recently. He said: "I've got a job to do and I'll keep on doing that job, the players are giving me everything - in certain instances they're maybe giving me too much if you know what I mean, we've had four red cards this season. "We've got to stop giving ourselves mountains to climb. The sooner we win a game, and then another, and then another, and build some momentum, then the better it will become. "I'm blessed because I've got a great bunch of lads who have got a team spirit which is second to none. I've got to focus on the positives and work on the negatives if you like."

Yes. He's going to solve the negatives by buying Danny Graham and a South American striker.Natasha Whittam wrote:Hockaday wrote: I've got to focus on the positives and work on the negatives if you like.

Probably in time to play on Saturday.

In reality there are only three football press releases. Sure you can change the names to protect the innocent and shuffle the order of the words around, but ultimately what you read again and again is one of the three.
Appropriately, this is a number two.

I don't like Redfearn, he's a complete Boggers.
I remember him saying he would rather never kick a ball again than pull on a Wanderers shirt after being dropped by, I think, John McGovern.
That's always stuck with me for some reason.
