At least 1,400 children were subjected to "appalling" sexual exploitation in Rotherham between 1997 and 2013, a report has found.

Children as young as 11 were raped by multiple perpetrators, abducted, trafficked to other cities in England, beaten and intimidated, it said.

The report, commissioned by Rotherham Borough Council in 2013, revealed there had been three previous inquiries.

Five men from the town were jailed for sexual offences against girls in 2010.

Professor Alexis Jay, who wrote the latest report, said there had been "blatant" collective failures by the council's leadership, senior managers had "underplayed" the scale of the problem and South Yorkshire Police had failed to prioritise the issue.

Prof Jay said police "regarded many child victims with contempt".

She also found the majority of perpetrators were of Pakistani heritage.

Revealing details of the inquiry's findings, Prof Jay said: "It is hard to describe the appalling nature of the abuse that child victims suffered."

She said she found examples of "children who had been doused in petrol and threatened with being set alight, threatened with guns, made to witness brutally violent rapes and threatened they would be next if they told anyone".

She said the failures happened despite three reports between 2002 and 2006 which both the council and police were aware of and "which could not have been clearer in the description of the situation in Rotherham".

She said the first of these reports was "effectively suppressed" because senior officers did not believe the data. The other two were ignored, she said.

As I've already said on here before, I did jury service last year on a case not a million miles from the topic of this thread.

(And that's all I'm allowed to say legally and I'm not going to prison for saying too much on an internet forum, so that's all you're getting.)

Some of the stuff I heard was toe-curling and frequently had several members of the jury in tears.

It seems that "certain cultures" truly do see children as something to be exploited for their "pleasure"  and it left me feeling sick.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen across the board in all cultures, but it does seem that one particular "culture" stands head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to this kind of thing.

And yet it always seems to get hushed up for some reason.........

There's a sickness of incredulity going around,it has been around for many years.
There is one solution Life Sentences,the only possibility of parole would be for these people being chemically castrated and to wear a tag so that they could be monitored by a special police force.

Personally I would take a Glock 19 switch it from semi automatic,to automatic and empty the clip in to them each and every one.Or they could go Halal throats cut till they bleed out,hung,guillotine etc.
However that's not going to be allowed so the top of the page is the best we are ever going to get.

Sorry to play the pedant, but the Glock 19 is classed as a "semi-automatic" pistol and, therefore, does not have a "fully-auto" firing function.

The "semi-automatic" bit just means that a round is chambered by the mechanism after the exhaust gases produced by the previous cartridge's firing have "blown back" and re-cocked the pistol.

You can't just pull the trigger and empty the clip, you need to keep doing it.

Sorry, but it might just save your life one day.

I simply can't get over the scale of the abuse - 1,400 kids - just in one place, Rotherham - not like it's spread thinly over the whole country or something.

Surely somebody, somewhere must have thought, something isn't right here, the numbers involved are way off the scale, this is not just the work of a kiddy fiddler or two.

Somebody with power must have had an idea of what was happening and decided not to do something about it.

Makes you wonder just what else is being hidden - and not just in Rotherham.

By the way the Glock 18 can indeed turned in to a automatic firing weapon with a capability of 1200 rpm.Not that I'm a gun freak I just read it somewhere,however the post was nothing to do with guns.
It was to do with disgusting filthy perverts that have undoubtedly ruined many children's lives.

What I would do,if allowed and as that will never be allowed an alternative going down the legal route.
When I said Life Sentence,I was talking about IPP,which is available to the courts today.
Indeterminate public protection.This allows a judge to set a minimum tariff to be served say 6 years as an example.A full 6 year term then has to be served before the perpetrator goes in front of the Parole Board who then decide if it is safe for this person to be let back in to society.
As these Paedophiles can't change as they are wired up wrong,only chemical castration and tagging and they then are on a Life Licence,any misdemeanor and they are back behind bars.

It's a very funny world where a well known Christian evangelist like Sir Cliff Pilchard has his crib turned over on TV for all the world to see, on the strength of one complaint over twenty years ago and a small town in Yarkshire has 1,400 complaints over 10 years without a whisper, until today!

It's got to be the most disgusting crime in society.Yet these scumbags get barely a slap on the arse by the courts.I would hang them high.
That's not going to happen but longer sentences,chemical castration,tagging so these scum bags are being monitored where exactly they are by a dedicated unit,it could be a Privately contracted company to keep an eye on these worms.

What I didn't add is that Pakistani men are notoriously known for grooming vulnerable teenage White Girls.
This is fact especially in the Yorkshire area,places like Walsall have seen high profile cases in recent years.
If I've upset anyone for speaking the truth that Asian gangs are in the highest percentage groups involved in grooming,exploiting,vulnerable young white girls.Well fuck off and grow a pair.

I'm aware of this fact as are most people, but nothing ever gets done as they play the race card.

If you have done the crime, especially as bad as this is, then you should certainly be punished, regardless of race.
