Nixon was responding to a question from TE Smith. For once he seems spot on. I have heard that Eddie has put his foot down and there will be no further finances heading from the IOM to the Macron.

So we're going to have to make do with what we've got. Seems fair. Don't like it, but it seems fair.Reebok Trotter wrote:Nixon was responding to a question from TE Smith. For once he seems spot on. Not sure about this "no debt" business though. It will have to be paid off sooner or later.

The tweet is from Nixon to T E Smith who was asking about our financial situation.

Right........
So who's suggesting that we have no debt and ED's on the verge of "chucking it".....?
Presumably, that's TE Smith.
So, I ask again, who is this person (I've heard of TV Smith - he was the lead singer in The Adverts. Is it his brother?) and why would they know what's going on in Eddie's head?

The tweet refers to the fact that Eddie Davies has put word out that the club is for sale and all debts owed to him will be written off.

So we don't know who the mysterious TE Smith is and we can't even agree on who's tweeting who, let alone whether there's any credibility in these claims.....?
Brilliant!
You couldn't write this shit.......

What are you talking about Bread? Everyone agrees the tweet is to Smith who is just a random Bolton fan asking him a question?
the credibility question depends on how much you believe the word of Nixon. Simple as that.

Nixon is tweeting to TE SMITH a bolton fan who asked the question. Nixon wrote the comment about Davies 'chucking it in'.

There's always been a lot of bullshit on this site- but the fact that ED is willing to write off his entire loan must be the most idiotic of them all.
He might want an exit- but an exit like this is just financial nonsense

This isn't a rumour, it is fact. I got this info from Dave Whelan.
No one is going to buy the club with the level of debt owed to Davies, but a club without the debt is a lot more saleable.
Davies would lose millions, but at least he won't have to pay millions more to keep the club going.

Did you meet Whelan on that dating site, Nat?

So we now know 5 from the list of 6 players we've been chasing all summer. Ibe, mason, Powell, Murray and boga. We've done well to bring them all in...

Let us not forget the interest that ED has recouped on all his ' loans.' Over the time he has been the owner I would estimate his interest repayments must have amounted to millions.
Al Fayed sold Fulham for £180 million which I thought was overpriced but then again, the ground is in an expensive part of London.

Wilson was ahead of Powell and Juke was ahead of both of them on Dougie's wish list. Throw Barrow into the mix and it's easy to see how much work they've put in for such little reward.Boggersbelief wrote:So we now know 5 from the list of 6 players we've been chasing all summer. Amazing what wealth can do. In previous years we'd have closed those deals with weeks to spare.

Although the term "No ambition" is over used for the most part. I can't for the life of me figure what our club is trying to do right now. Do they care about even staying in the Champs? Do Eddie & Phil feel proud to take us down another level? I don't know. Further I didn't here any statements from Eddie or Phil ...do they care at all? It's a strange way to run a business.

Where does "ambition" end and "stupidity" begin?
I suppose if you ran a business you'd be "ambitious" and spend well well well well beyond your means.
And who are these other owners who are in the press all the time giving statements?
And I don't want to hear "football is different though." Yes it might be to billionaires, ED isn't one of them, not even close.

I don't think this is about ambition or lack of, I can't believe Eddie Davies is sat in his gold tower thinking "I love being bottom of the Championship". And I don't believe Davies hasn't sacked Freedman because he can't afford to - clubs always find the cash to sack managers.
The club were guilty of keeping Coyle on too long so there's clearly a precedent for giving managers a chance. And let's face it, in both Freedman's seasons as manager we've had some good runs of form - and perhaps this is what Davies is clinging to.
But lose at home to Sheffield Wednesday and Freedman will have to go. We all know it.
