Commons would be a very good player at this level, the aim of the game is to improve so if the club think they can afford it then who are we to argue?

Too many previous Bolton managers have bought squad players, any player you sign should improve your first 11 or what's the point?

I agree, he also knows where the net is which is something we are lacking.

WANDERERS have been forced to admit defeat in their chase of Watford winger Lloyd Dyer.

Neil Lennon had attempted to bring the former Leicester City man on board after missing out on Diego Fabbrini but was left disappointed yet again when the 32-year-old said he wanted to play closer to his home in the Midlands.

Birmingham City are now reported to be in talks with Dyer’s representatives, leaving Wanderers still without a completed signing more than a fortnight into the January window.

Shame as he's class on his day, but we're a pariah club at the moment - nobody wants to play for us given a choice - unless we pay them handsomely to do so and those days are gone.

Really not expecting anyone to come in, but we live in hope.

We won't be able to compete with Leicester for Commons thats for sure.

Why not?- the guy knows that he's not really premiership material- specially at his age.
Leicester will be back in the Championship next season so he'll be looking at the length of the contract on offer.
I think because he knows Neil Lennon and his management team that we have as good a chance as anyone else. 
Whether he can do the business for us is another matter. How many strikers have we signed in the past few years who simply don't come up to our expectations in front of goal?

I thought that Lennon was after him for his goalscoring ability. I hope its not another midfielder. Even with Spearing and Medo on their way-I think we still have enough midfielders in the squad.

he scored 22 or 23 last season for celtic and i am pretty sure he was att mid.

yep, attacking mid but 72 goals in 173 appearances for celtic.

Commons has always been attacking mid even when he was knocking around the Championship at Forest and Derby etc. The thinking is as a replacement/back up for CYL I assume.
He can score plenty given the space and time afforded to him playing for a dominant team like Celtic, but he won't get that in the Championship.

Is there anyone else we're rumoured to be after or is that it now?

We are rumoured to have signed someone - no idea who or at what level. Vague, I know.
