Is an away draw too much to hope for on Saturday? Probably.

Will Dougie start off with a narrow line up? Almost certainly.

Two strikers to start or was Cavies just a waste of space against Rotherham? Waste of space IMO so either play a different second striker or have an extra midfielder.

Absolute guess, but I'm hoping our luck is still with us and the lads will put in a performance - 1 - 1.

And Scott - if you're on your way to Norwich on Saturday go via the M6 and don't bother with the A14/A11.

he will go back to five in midfield i reckon and our hat trick hero may be on the bench! Cavies was excellent last night so if we are going to play one upfront it will be him.
I can't see us getting anything from this game, Wolves have made a decent start and will win narrowly

Wolves have had a good start but they are nowt special, neither are we I know, so any result is possible if we show the same determination as we did 2nd half against Rotherham.

Nothing ever surprises me but If Dougie drops Mason and C.Davies on Saturday he wants fucking shooting.

So, 4-5-1 with beckford on his own up front it is then.

with cravies up front on his own in a 4-5-1. subbed for joe in the seventy fifth or later minute.

the usual spouted drivel excuse ridden junk about luck, tiny mistakes and we're really close to being brilliant after the match.

Any relation to Dougie I wonder? The title would suggest not.

Match preview

SETTING THE SCENE

Wanderers travel to Molineux for the first time in two years on Saturday, following Wolverhampton Wanderers’ campaign in League One last season.

Kenny Jackett’s side currently sit in the Championship play-off places, and, even at this early stage of the season, will already have one eye looking forward to the possibility of securing back-to-back promotions to the Premier League.

However, Dougie Freedman’s side boast the superior record in this fixture having lost just once against Wolves since the turn of the Millennium, and will be full of confidence heading into the tie after securing their first league win of the season on Tuesday against Rotherham United.

TEAM NEWS

Max Clayton goes straight into the first team squad for this weekend’s trip to Molineux after signing for Wanderers from Crewe Alexandra earlier this week.

Kevin McNaughton returns having not featured since last month’s clash with Middlesbrough through a mixture of injury and illness, while Andy Lonergan is expected to continue in goal in Adam Bogdan’s absence.

Liam Trotter and David Wheater will definitely miss out after coming off injured against Crewe Alexandra and Leeds United respectively.

Elsewhere, Marc Tierney and Sanmi Odelusi are the only other absentees for the Whites.

LAST TIME OUT

16/09/2014: Charlton Athletic 1-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers (Batth 65)

Danny Baath’s second half-header earned Wolves a share of the points against Charlton in midweek, extending their recent unbeaten run to five matches.

Andre Bikey-Amougou’s volley had put the hosts ahead at the Valley midway through the first half, and it could have been 2-0 soon after had George Tucudean not shot wide when in a good position.

However, Kenny Jackett’s side fought back after the break and got their leveller just after the hour-mark, Baath jumping highest to nod home James Henry’s corner.

Wolves: Ikeme, Doherty, Golbourne, Saville (Dicko 45), Batth, Stearman, Henry (Jacobs 87), Evans, Clarke (Edwards 81), McDonald, Sako.

ONE TO WATCH

Wolves’ leading goalscorer so far this season with three goals from six league starts, Bakary Sako has proven himself to be a consistent provider of goals from midfield since first moving to Molineux.

The Mali international started his career in France with Chateauroux in 2001, making his league debut on the last day of the 2005/06 Ligue 2 season.

Establishing himself as a regular during the 2008/09, Sako helped Chateauroux avoid relegation before signing for Saint-Etienne later that summer.

Joining Wolves in August 2012, 26-year-old scored on both his club debut and maiden league appearance for the club against Northampton Town and Cardiff City respectively, but could not prevent the club being relegated to League One.

However, Sako was an integral member of the Wolves side that secured an immediate return to the Championship, scoring 13 goals as Kenny Jackett’s side lifted the League One title.

LAST TIME WE WERE THERE

23/10/2012: Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-2 Bolton Wanderers (Doyle 27, 30, Afobe 21, M.Davies 90)

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Mark Davies scored a last-minute equaliser against his former club, as Wanderers’ clinched a dramatic point at Molineux.

With Jimmy Phillips’ still in temporary charge of the side following the departure of Owen Coyle, Benik Afobe poked home the opener for the Whites after being allowed time and space following Martin Petrov’s corner.

However, a quick-fire brace from Kevin Doyle saw Wolves turn the game on its head on the half-hour mark, leaving it to Davies to volley home a deserved equaliser in the dying embers of the game.

MAN IN THE MIDDLE

West Yorkshire-based referee Andrew Madley takes charge of Wanderers’ trip to Wolves this weekend as Dougie Freedman’s side look to build on their first league win of the season.

Mr Madley has twice before officiated the Whites, most recently in last season’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.

In the seven matches he has reffed so far this season, Mr Madley has handed out 24 yellow cards and one red card.

Chris Powell and Richard Wigglesworth will run the line, while Steven Rushton is the fourth official.
