LAST TIME OUT 16/09/2014: Charlton Athletic 1-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers (Batth 65)
Danny Baath’s second half-header earned Wolves a share of the points against Charlton in midweek, extending their recent unbeaten run to five matches.
Andre Bikey-Amougou’s volley had put the hosts ahead at the Valley midway through the first half, and it could have been 2-0 soon after had George Tucudean not shot wide when in a good position.
However, Kenny Jackett’s side fought back after the break and got their leveller just after the hour-mark, Baath jumping highest to nod home James Henry’s corner.
Wolves: Ikeme, Doherty, Golbourne, Saville (Dicko 45), Batth, Stearman, Henry (Jacobs 87), Evans, Clarke (Edwards 81), McDonald, Sako.
ONE TO WATCHWolves’ leading goalscorer so far this season with three goals from six league starts, Bakary Sako has proven himself to be a consistent provider of goals from midfield since first moving to Molineux.
The Mali international started his career in France with Chateauroux in 2001, making his league debut on the last day of the 2005/06 Ligue 2 season.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Establishing himself as a regular during the 2008/09, Sako helped Chateauroux avoid relegation before signing for Saint-Etienne later that summer.
Joining Wolves in August 2012, 26-year-old scored on both his club debut and maiden league appearance for the club against Northampton Town and Cardiff City respectively, but could not prevent the club being relegated to League One.
However, Sako was an integral member of the Wolves side that secured an immediate return to the Championship, scoring 13 goals as Kenny Jackett’s side lifted the League One title.
