David N’Gog has not been seen since last weekend leaving his club Stade de Reims in a state of confusion about his whereabouts.
The former Liverpool, Bolton Wanderers and Swansea City player only returned to his home country in the summer.
He pulled out of the squad ahead of last weekend’s trip to Lorient because of illness and now L’Equipe are reporting that nobody is sure where he is.
The club’s team doctor initially went to his hotel to confirm his illness but when staff went to check up on him earlier this week they found a completely deserted room and he has not answered phone calls.
Until yesterday they thought he was just ill but now staff at the club are not sure. Manager Jean-Luc Vasseur insists he is bed ridden but according to the well-respected French football publication, nobody knows which bed he is in.
N’Gog has only played 63 minutes so far this season.
