Well its that time of year where its only a 3 day week next week. Public holiday on Monday and Friday.
Monday 30 April is Queens Day - officially started by Queen Juliana whose birthday was 30 April, and then the tradition carried on by Queen Beatrix whose birthday 31st January but because its so cold during January she decided to keep 30 April as the official birthday. Queens Day is preceeded by Queens Night on 29 April - where celebrations begin from 7pm and carry on through the night.

Friday 4th May is Remembrance Day - Where Dam Square (primarily in front of the war Memorial) and massive service to remember the fallen in both World wars are commemorated - they also celebrate Liberation Day which is 5 May. 5th May is an actual public holiday itself only once every 5 years, and the last Libertaion Day public holiday was 2010. Although 4th and 5th May are classed as Public Holidays - many still work on these days.
