Conor Wilkinson will head back to Wanderers on Monday after his loan at League One Oldham Athletic expired.
The 19-year-old striker, pictured, will be part of the Latics’ squad to face Walsall this weekend but will be back at Euxton next week to await the arrival of the new Whites boss.
Wilkinson has thus far made five appearances for Oldham, with Boundary Park boss Lee Johnson hinting he could be willing to take him again on loan.
“I am disappointed to lose Conor but I'm delighted for him as he has had a really good spell,” he said.
“It's a completely understandable decision as a new manager will want to bring everybody back to assess what they have. He is certainly a player we have enjoyed working with and would love to have back.”
