Conor Wilkinson joins Oldham on loan

Conor Wilkinson has joined League One side Oldham Athletic on a one-month loan deal.

The Republic of Ireland U21 international was on the scoresheet for Wanderers’ development squad against Oldham in the Manchester FA Senior Cup last week, and will go straight into the Latics’ squad for their fixture against Gillingham on Saturday.

Having made the move to BL6 from Millwall in July 2013, Wilkinson spent time on loan at Chester and Torquay United last season.

The forward featured for Dougie Freedman’s side in pre-season and made his Whites debut in the Capital One Cup first round against Bury last month, while he also started Bolton’s second round victory against Crewe Alexandra.

So how many strikers is that we now have to pick from, 3?....

For an ex striker, old doug doesn't seem to like having many of them on the books.

It makes perfect sense to loan our young forward Wilkinson out. After all, we brought in another midfielder in Garvan.

Right?

Good move that, he isn't ready for us but I have a feeling that wilko will make the grade with us.
