What the hell is going on in the world?

So... there is a virus being transmitted via mosquito called Chikungunya. It causes a version of flu that doesn't give sniffles but causes really high fever, joint pains, nausea and as a going away present, gives you a full body rash that is really itchy. Some people get swelling in various parts of the body and arthritis-like symptoms. It is a real sunnovabitch. I had my share three weeks ago but skipped the rash. The problem with Chikungunya or Chik V as it is also called, is that sufferers with pre-existing medical conditions can have fatal complications. Two teachers and a student at a high school died within days of each other this week. Serious stuff. Having just gotten over it for the most part, there are rumours of visitors to the island having been found to have been exposed to Ebola...

Just as I suspected the friend of John Grisham who "accidentally" looked at child pornography turns out to not be quite as innocent as described. He has been identified, and newspaper reports of the court case in 1997 show that he downloaded images of children under 12 having "intercourse".

Grisham has now posted an unqualified apology on his website.
