Looks like Kaspersky Security Cloud Free is possibly the best free one.

Looks like Kaspersky Security Cloud Free is possibly the best free one.

Avast has ruled the roost for many years when it comes to free AV, and Kaspersky is now running it close. However, I take these reviews with a pinch of salt, because I know for a fact that some of the review sites take handouts.
The best reviewer is the PC Security channel. Leo will put you straight about most of the options out there.
