Armed police in every school proposals...

MIAMI -- The nation's largest gun-rights lobby called Friday for the placement of an armed police officer in every school, but parents and educators questioned how safe such a move would keep kids, whether it would be economically feasible and how it would alter student life. Their reactions ranged from supportive to disgusted.

Already, there are an estimated 10,000 sworn officers serving in schools around the country, most of them armed and employed by local police departments, according to a membership association for the officers. Still, they're deployed at only a fraction of the country's approximately 98,000 public schools, and their numbers have declined during the economic downturn. Some departments have increased police presence at schools since last week's shooting rampage at a Connecticut elementary school that left 26 dead, but say they can only do so temporarily because of funding.

Absolutely disgusting.

The stupidity of the NRA is breathtaking. Even if there were an armed officer in every school he would just be the first casualty before the loony with the automatic rifle started killing the kids and teachers.

The ability of some people to believe nonsense no matter how much evidence to the contrary they are shown is scary.

I noticed the other day when ITN was interviewing the school principal, there were metal detectors and other forms of detectors. Pathetic that a school has to employ such devices. And nor the NRA are suggesting having armed guards!!!! The US has gone too far with this so-called gun-culture!!!

POLK COUNTY FLORIDA SHERIFF GRADY JUDD


An illegal immigrant in Polk County Florida who got pulled over in a routine traffic stop ended up killing the deputy who stopped him.
The deputy was shot eight times, including once behind his right ear at close range.
Another deputy was wounded and a police dog killed.


A state-wide manhunt ensued.
The murderer was found hiding in a wooded area and as soon as he took a shot at the SWAT team, officers opened fire on him. They hit the guy 68 times.
Naturally, the liberal media went nuts and asked why they had to shoot the poor undocumented immigrant 68 times.
Sheriff Grady Judd told the Orlando Sentinel: "Because that's all the ammunition we had."
Now, is that just about the all-time greatest answer or what?
The Coroner also reported that the illegal man died of natural causes. When asked by a reporter how that could be since there were 68 bullet wounds in his body, he simply replied "When you are shot 68 times, you are, naturally, gonna die."
