There were around 10 temperance bars in Bolton until the war apparently. Well until someone opens a Vimto Bar it's the only place to meet like-minded posh people.
Quite partial to a glass of D & B or Sarsaparilla out of a stone jar - especially with a scoop of ice cream floating in it.
When I was a kid there were just Italian places like Tognorelli's and Sabini's and they closed when the shops closed.
