Used to catch the bus into town from the bus stop there, although back in those days I always used to walk unless I was really late.

Moving to Wynne Street in a few weeks :-)
If its the house right at the top on the corner on the left hand side if you come up from Halliwell Rd, then thats my Grans old house  Very Happy

That with an odd number right?  If so it is on that side but not the top one, one of the houses in the middle.

Halaliwell isn't that bad, to be fair, otherwise there would be no pubs left!!  At least The Mop is still standing and as popular as ever.

I might have to move back to Bolton so I can join in with this conversation.

Tinned Toms - You know it makes sense!

I grew up on Ashford Walk in front of the old ABC park on the big field off brownlow way. They built a new park and mini football pitch there and the rest of the field is being built on as well now I think. It was when the massive block of flats was still there (skagen court?) and mossfield mill was still on vernon street and the old terraced houses just behind off prince street that still had toilets outside in the back yard. There was a shop on prince street before it all got demolished where I used to go and get bits and bobs for my mum and get myself a twist and squeeze and a marathon bar Smile

Does anyone remember the video man in his brown estate car. 7 videos for a fiver for the week. Kids not allowed to open the passenger front as this is where he kept the blue stuff.

I was toying with the idea of a drive through chippy. I reckon it would be a big hit

Nope..brought up on Daubhill... Cannon Street no less but my grandfather lived off Halliwell Road just behind the Lamb pub. Probably on the same street as Norpigs. Used to play darts for the Lamb in the seventies. Billy Flyers no less. Billy Harte was the captain and he drove a HGV delivering fruit and was known as Billy Fruit.
