Bolton Wanderers are pleased to confirm the signing of Francesco Pisano on a free transfer.
Having spent his entire career in Serie A with Cagliari, the 29-year-old joins Wanderers on a two-year deal after leaving the Italian club at the end of his contract following their relegation to Serie B.
A right-back by trade, the former Italy Under-21s international was a member of the Italian squad that reached the Under-21s European Championships semi-finals in 2009 alongside Mario Balotelli.
Pisano goes straight into Neil Lennon’s first team for Saturday’s home clash with Nottingham Forest, subject to international clearance.
