Ref watch: Simon Hooper to oversee Leeds United clash

Simon Hooper will officiate Wanderers' home clash against Leeds United on Saturday.

Taking charge of his seventh Whites game in total, the Wiltshire-based official previously ran the rule over the Whites' trips to Leeds, Charlton and Bournemouth last season.

Mr. Hooper has overseen 13 games so far this campaign, handing out 31 yellow cards but no red cards.

Robert Merchant and David Plowright will run the line, while Stephen Martin will be the fourth official.

We had a few good chances against Birmingham who are having a good season, and they didn't exactly create much themselves. I don't think there'd have been half the drama over that performance if we weren't already bottom of the league. If we can just win this match which is obviously very doable, things suddenly look a lot different and a load of the panic goes away for a week at least.

Obviously we're bound to make hard work of it.

Preview: Bolton v Leeds United

SETTING THE SCENE
Bolton Wanderers host Leeds United on Saturday looking to bounce back after suffering their first home league defeat of the campaign against Birmingham City in midweek.

Boasting the weaker record in this clash with 23 victories to Leeds’ 24, the Whites will be keen to change their recent fortunes in this fixture having not tasted a home victory over the Yorkshiremen since 2004.

Meanwhile, new head coach Steve Evans will be taking charge of Leeds for only the second time as the visitors look to end their four-game winless run.

TEAM NEWS
Wellington Silva has been ruled out for the foreseeable future after suffering a torn hamstring against Birmingham City in midweek, but new signing Shola Ameobi could be in line to make his Wanderers debut.

Jay Spearing could return after missing Tuesday’s game through injury, while Dean Moxey remains doubtful as he continues to battle an ongoing toe problem.

Elsewhere, Zach Clough (shoulder) remains a long-term absentee.

LAST LEEDS UNITED XI (v Fulham, D1-1)
Silvestri, Byram, Bamba, Cooper, Berardi, Murphy (Botaka 58), Dallas (Phillips 86), Cook, Adeyemi, Antenucci, Wood (Buckley 70).

ONE TO WATCH
Joining Leeds United from Leicester City in the summer, Chris Wood has enjoyed a solid start to life at Elland Road.

The New Zealand international scored the first goal of the Steve Evans’ era in Leeds’ midweek draw with Fulham, taking his total for the season to five from 12 games.

A Championship winner with Leicester in 2014 and League One winner with Brighton in 2011, Wood also won promotion to the Premier League with West Bromwich Albion in 2010, while he was also a member of the New Zealand squad that competed in the World Cup the same year.

Moxey has a "toe problem"? The soft bastard. If it's not broken he should be fooking playing.

I think the "toe problem" is that they're connected to his feet which are useless.

Special actually means belonging to a species. What species do you think he belongs to?

You're just embarrassing yourself now. I had high hopes for you but it's clear you are lost without my support.

Children always manage to disappoint you.

I think we should offer Boggers an amnesty.

He's obviously fallen in with the wrong crowd, started eating crayons and gorging himself on Weight Gain 3000 shakes given to him by that fat bloke because he's easily lead.

And as a result he's been lead astray and has dug himself in too deep and now he doesn't know how to break the cycle.

Dump your fat Svengali and come back to the fold, Boggers.
