I'm stocking up fpr Xmas. One of my friends has selflessly tried lots of champagne, and confidently asserts that lidl at just under a tenner is unbeatable, but as I have spend the majority of this year not drinking, what white and red recommendations does anyone have? I like dry whites (ABC Anything But Chardonnay) and heavy chewy reds, and aim to spend around 6-8 per bottle (esp when originally more expensive), will splash out on a couple of more expensive ones if they come highly recommended.

Tesco Finest Tapiwey Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc is a nice Chilean wine, this is currently priced at £6 per bottle and has some fruity aromas such as gooseberry.

We have had the Turner Road Reserve Merlot a few times and this I find is a nice red wine. This is currently £7.50 at Tesco as well. Smile

The Hardys Crest Sparkling Rose is also a nice wine.

It seems after looking on Tesco's website, they have culled a huge selection of wines from their range.

I have a feeling that I am going to be disappointed this Christmas!
