Just heard Sting warbling "Englishman in New York" on the radio while I was in the bath.
And something that's always bothered me (well, since it came out in 1987 anyway) is the fact that he tries articulating his Englishness by saying that he "likes his toast done on one side".
Toast done on one side.....?
What's that all about?
I'm English and I like mine done on both sides. In fact, I wasn't aware that you could have it any other way.
I've been to the States a couple of times but I've never had their toast, so I have no idea if they have it like we do (ie both sides toasted) or what.
Can anybody help?
