Take them swimming.

My daughter absolutely loved going, even when she still had not learned how to swim properly.

It's also a skill they can use for the rest of their lives too.

Another thing my daughter loved - although this may be more of a girl type of thing - was buying her a load of art and craft stuff and letting her create things.

It could be say a bit of paper which she uses a glue stick to make say a face and covers the glue with glitter or it could be using some pipe cleaner bendy stick things to make a model dog, cat or whatever she thought of, or a million other things like that.

She used to like colouring books and join up the dot books and stuff like that as well.

Kept her entertained for ages and she was always happy when we 'hung' her work up on the fridge or in her room.

The simple things are usually the best. As kids we always got a compendium of games,so most of Christmas day was spent playing everything from Ludo to Bingo. Happy days.

I find if I just sit/lie down on the floor the kids can spend a massive amount of time using me as a climbing frame, bouncey castle, rag doll and something to generally kick the shit out of. They're all boys so they can't get enough of being thrown around. The missus sits hiding behind a pillow when we have rough playtime. Scares her to death watching me whizzing them around. Very Happy
