I've still not settled on a pair yet tbh. A mate of mine has some 10x50 bins which he reckons are amazing. I'm going to have a look at them and see for myself as I was originally looking for 7x50 as per your recommendation.

Don't know how old your lad is mate,but 10x50 can be quite heavy for a kid,meaning whatever he's looking at would have the shakes. 
Look a decent pair though. It's all about personal taste with these things.
