Dean Moxey was pleased with his team-mates fighting spirit as Wanderers recovered from 2-0 down to draw with Charlton Athletic on Tuesday.
A brace from Ademola Lookman, including an opening strike inside 30 seconds, had seen the Whites up against it at The Valley early on, only for Bolton to fight back courtesy of strikes from Emile Heskey and Josh Vela.
And although disappointed not to have left the capital with all three points, Moxey was encouraged by the Trotters’ performance and called for more of the same against Fulham on Saturday.
“In a way, we’re disappointed only to be coming away with the draw,” the defender told bwfc.co.uk. “After the final whistle went, we thought we could have won it second half.
“We knew that if we came here, got the ball wide and into the box, and got at these then we could score goals. Unfortunately we couldn’t get that third goal after drawing level, but it is a good point
in the end really.
“It was a blow falling behind so early on. We made it hard for ourselves, going 2-0 down and to two stupid goals as well. It gave us even more of an uphill battle so we’ll take the point and move on to Saturday.”
Moxey continued: “It’s never good to go 2-0 down. The fans travelled all this way and don’t want to see their side 2-0 down. But you’ve seen what we’re like tonight.
“We’re fighting for each other, for the staff and for our fans who travelled all this way. We wanted to get back into the game and we’ll keep on fighting until the end of the season and see what happens.
“We’re all confident that we can turn this situation around. Everyone believes we can do it and there is a long way to go, so stick with us.”
