The only Toby I know is the one on Crompton Way.

I know it's only a fiver but very poor when you just get a slither of meat.

Im sure there is one the junction before the reebok after the motorway (macron even)

The Watergate is shite. If you want a carvery go to Applewood Farm in Boothstown. You get loads of meat and they do takeaway carveries as well. There's a play area for the kids and they have parent cams so you can watch your kids on a monitor while you eat / drink or whatever. Best place around by far, and I've tried loads.

Maybe we should change your rank to King of the Carvery? Very Happy

Meant to say earlier.  Probably too late now.  Someone told mewayne walkers do take away roast dinners on a sunday for 4 quid.  Not sure if they will be much cop.
Do you mean in a frozen a la ping way?

Wayne walkers (or wankers our pet name for him!) do have a fantastic selection of meat and their prices really are good.

We always get their fresh chicken breast in big packs (4kg) for £18 and their selection of different cuts of steak is good and so is their price.

They do have offers on and we got a small corn fed chicken and medium size gammon joint for a fiver and both were tasty!

It really is worth a visit and the place is great in summer if you like having barbies.

They also sell big 7.5kg sacks of spuds and sacks of onions cheap as well.
I've steered clear of the place since it had to be shut down a while ago by the health authority. I've heard nothing but good things off quite a few people lately though so might give it another try. The butchers that's opened up near game in Bolton town centre is pretty good for deals as well.

If you know why it was shut down then it shouldn't really be an issue if you buy fresh meat.

It now has either a 4 or 5 star hygiene rating now.

They were apparently using the same machinery for raw meat and cooked meat iirc. I know they sorted it but mud sticks. As I said, I've heard nothing but praise recently so I'll probably give it another go.

Your right in what happened mate.

He came out in the paper and apologized etc, he does have a good reputation from when he started on Farnworth (of all places! Just for you Martin! Very Happy ) market selling meat off the wagon. Smile
