Is Leftovers on over there? Best thing on TV by a country mile.

the last episode was on last night but i haven't watched it yet. It is the most bizarre thing i've seen for years but strangely addictive. The hotel episode last week was bonkers but brilliant at the same timefinlaymcdanger wrote:Is Leftovers on over there? Best thing on TV by a country mile.

Its done by the guy who worked 15 years to get to the bottom of corruption...I'm hoping for some insight, not necessarily into what he did (I think we know) but in how he got away with it for so long/who else was aware
Just watching it now on the iPlayer.
Some brilliant lines from Jennings.
"And suddenly I had people with guns agreeing with me. I liked that..."

Tinned Toms - You know it makes sense!
Jack Warner came across as one horrible bastard.

"I would spit on you because you are garbage."
I'd have chinned him right there.

They were talking about an Indian actor who has been released from jail after being wrongly convicted of a driving offence. They cut to a clip of an Indian actor on the red carpet. "That's the wrong...well, the wrong...you've put up the wrong (muttered) person, please just ignore this" snapped on obviously embarrassed and irate Krishnan Guru-Murthy. For the rest of the broadcast you could sense an internal battle between saying anything else, or walking off, or apologising again...he was livid.

Cheers Mand, I'll look out for it on 4+1 later.
Almost as cringe-worthy was the performance of Bolton South East MP (and seemingly shameless self-publicist) Yasmin Qureshi's performance on 5Live this morning when she managed to shoe-horn in an explicit comment when discussing Trump and was duly admonished.
I really can't stand that woman.
She's the type that gives your lot a bad name because everything about her just screams "I wanna be famous!"
("Your lot" being members of the British political establishment, not women in general.)

Watch this. Old but the best 35 minutes you'll have wasted all week.

3rd series is on iplayer at the moment, darker and faster paced than the first 2 but seriously good.

Anybody else watched Fin's phone box thingy?
I watched it the other night and it's put me right off.
Thank God for mobiles, eh?

Had it with these Nordic shows. A lot of miserable looking people in big jumpers. Why has everything got to be so dark these days?
Why can't they investigate a spate of thefts from allotment sheds? I'd watch it.
As for that phone box thing,it reminded me of something BBC2 might have shown instead of the test card many years ago.In BBC2's early years,a half hour film used to be shown on a loop when they weren't broadcasting.
