Indeed. Those lumberjacks were amazing. Didn't Saint and Greavsie become a spin-off from WOS?

Surprised nobody has mentioned Starsky and Hutch! They were very popular in the mid to late seventies. Some other police shows from that period were:
Petrocelli, played by Barry Newman.
Beretta, played by Robert ?
Streets of San Francisco with Walter Matthau and a young Michael Douglas.
Bluey, played by Lucky Grills.
Voyage to the bottom of the sea was another favourite of mine.

If I remember rightly RT,wasn't Petrocelli always building a wall?
I remember Bluey. He made Columbo look like a dandy.

Bloody hell Banksy, I'd forgotten all about Sea Hunt. I loved it.
The very first programmes I remember watching, as a kid, was Muffin the Mule, and another puppet type thing called Four Feather Falls. That would have been around 1957, and of course, the original Lone Ranger.

Tosh and burnside. Them were the days when the bill was good. The feet walking down the street on the credits always sticks in the mind. Used to love Johnny Bravo as well.Lever ender wrote:Remember the bill with big tosh. Keeping up appearances was another of my faves. Cartoon wise thunder cats, He man,Johnny bravo.

Callan was an excellent show. Was trying to remember the dozy scots chap who did the running for him. Lonely (?)boltonbonce wrote:Anyone remember 'Callan'? A show from the late sixties featuring Edward Woodward.
Think they made a film of it too.
Always remember one show where they injected lighter fuel into a light bulb, and when the baddies turned it on, it exploded, throwing glass and petrol everywhere. I thought it was an original idea.

'Maigret' was another enjoyable show from the sixties. Rupert Davies playing the lead.

Maigret was brilliant.
Bonce, I just had to watch that, and then another episode, (or part of it), and the screen came up with the others on it, such as Fireball XL5, (remember Zoony?), Supercar, and Torchy.
One programme we were allowed to watch, and which I remember hiding behind the settee from, was 'Quatermass and the pit'. Scary as hell
Good days indeed

Stingray was another favourite. I used to love those puppets. They certainly didn't stint on the eyebrows.gloswhite wrote:Maigret was brilliant.

I used to love watching Randall and Hopkirk (deceased) when I was a kid. The original with Mike Pratt and Kenneth Cope, not the shocking remake with Reeves and Mortimer.

Cope once did the whole show with his toupee on back to front.Bwfc1958 wrote:I used to love watching Randall and Hopkirk (deceased) when I was a kid. The original with Mike Pratt and Kenneth Cope, not the shocking remake with Reeves and Mortimer.

Land of the Giants. It was terrible really but I loved it.
The original Batman series in the sixties was brilliant as well.

I'm not sure what this says about my powers of observation, but I didn't even know he wore a toupee.boltonbonce wrote:Cope once did the whole show with his toupee on back to front.Bwfc1958 wrote:I used to love watching Randall and Hopkirk (deceased) when I was a kid.
