it's all about preference, I drink occasionally and usually only things I like the taste of, I don't drink to get drunk.

I also like to try something different there are lots of wines and given that I like to cook trying a new meal and a bottle of plonk does not make me a bellend.

pepsi is always going to taste like pepsi and is okay with a cheap burger, there's much more variety in wines alone, suspect if you tried you could find something just as good if not nicer, perhaps you should broaden your horizons.
