I'm going to give you some sound advice now pal, stop for a second - sit down and relax.

Don't get your loft conversion done - save the money and move (don't think of it as he's not moving us away) think of it as bettering yourself.

Rent your house out maybe (to a practicing young band - with drums and guitars) and just rent somewhere else.

It will only get worse, if he's always pissed.
And you might end up beating him up.

Scott thanks for the advice but i can't afford to move and start another mortgage to be honest.

Are you going to behave this time?  Very Happy

I didn't say get a mortgage, rent your house out, and you rent another house, just pay the difference.

Simples.

Your mortgage would still be getting paid, and you won't be living next door to the guy.

Tinned Toms - You know it makes sense!

I don't think Norpig wants to spend money on trying to kill his neighbour by getting him pissed and making him even noisier in the process. No self respecting serial killer has to use vodka as a murder weapon.

Norpig has experience in the killing business. Keep your eyes open for news reports of a professional hit in the Burnage area.

Go get him Dexter.

i was actually thinking Scotts idea was a good one, he is a pisshead so no one would suspect anything untoward  Twisted Evil

Is this Vodka a dodgy brand? Is it stronger than usual?

If this is true, and the people you bought the house didn't mention it, you can sue them.

A friend of mine moved into a house with a crazy neighbour, the sellers didn't mention it despite being well aware of his antics (they'd complained to the police so they couldn't deny it), so my friend took them to court - the sellers settled out of court at the last minute for £12,500.

There is a specific question in the seller questionnaire that deals with crazy/noisy neighbours. Check your copy.

We might be, but Norpig wouldn't be suing him anyway. It's the people he bought the house from who are in the wrong.

You bellend.

Nat's advice ref the sellers pack is good, and I'd also recommend talking to your environmental health team at the council. Evidence gathering is tricky, and there are some machines which are allowed as proof of noise they can install, just recording it on your mobile will not be taken as proof in any enforcement action. Once you go that route, it can become v confrontational, and you are right, there will most likely be a counter complaint. I don't know if Bolton run a mediation service for neighbours, if they do, it's worth trying, even if doomed to failure, it shows willing. Pm me if I can be of specific help if there are details you haven't shared, good luck, Piggers (violence never the answer tho v tempting!)
