Wanderers have confirmed Keshi Anderson’s loan from Crystal Palace has been cut short.

The Selhurst Park striker, who arrived on transfer deadline day in August, managed just four starts for Bolton.

Anderson scored on his debut against Southend United but fell out of favour after picking up his first senior red card at Walsall a fortnight later.

The mutual agreement between Wanderers and Palace frees up some space for Phil Parkinson to make another signing – with Newcastle United winger Sammy Ameobi and Cardiff City’s Adam Le Fondre both strong possibilities.

“I had a good chat with Mark Bright at Palace and we mutually agreed it was the best thing for Keshi and for both clubs,” Parkinson told The Bolton News this morning.

“He hasn’t figured as much as he or Palace would have liked.

“He got in the team when he first came here and we have been on a terrific run and it has been hard to get him in the side. For his development he needs to go somewhere he is going to play.

“It is also a chance for us to bring another player in and it had to be a joint agreement for Keshi to go back. Now we’re in a situation to do a bit of business.”

I had high hopes for this lad but it didn't come off, no great loss really

Hugely disappointing considering his goal scoring record prior to joining us. Problem is that he looked "on paper" to be our best option within our budget so I don't know where we'll get a better striker from now.
