Sluffy, why is the Bolton Nuts logo an elephant?

Because we didn't know how to do a pigs foot!

I would have hoped that most might have sussed why already - the club emblem is BWFC in the shape of a ball and someone (Keegan iirc) has kindly tinkered with it a little bit for us to turn it in the shape of the infamous Bolton elephant, holding the red rose with its trunk.

I thought it was very clever actually - sorry if we've been a bit too up ourselves for people to have missed our intent.

That one came about when some people were calling for a return of the elephant on the club badge.

I liked the old badge with the ribbons on - at least it will always be associated with the team of Okocha, Hierro, Yuri, Stelios etc.

Numpty deserves the credit (it must have been Keegan that added the rose held in the trunk that I was thinking about).

Wish you did a few more of these mate as I think you are brilliant at them!

I understood it, Sluffy. Just wondered if there was a reason you opted for the elephant. No need to be quite so patronising.

That is how I write and speak mate, I'm not being patronising and I'm sorry if you thought I had been.

I wrote simply to answer your question you asked of me and give you a full explanation.

The elephant is long associated with our town (at least for the last 200 years) and it seemed a clever idea to use it as our Nuts logo as a variation to the clubs emblem.

Bolton used to have the elephant walk at one time where you could go on the trail and spot the elephants on buildings etc.

Our nickname of Trotters came about because part of the site at Burnden Park was originally a pig farm before Burnden Park was built.

Instead of "Trotters" or "Wanderers" we should be the "Super Moras". Ok, I'm off.
