Charlton boss Karl Robinson wishes he had Wanderers’ Ben Amos for keeps.
The former Manchester United stopper has been in exile at the Macron for the last two seasons, returning momentarily in the summer between loan spells at Cardiff City and a new one at The Valley.
But while his stock fell significantly at Bolton when they were relegated in his first full season at the club, his solid start in League One at Charlton might have opened up new opportunity.
Robinson believes Amos is now approaching top form for the South Londoners, who now sit fourth in the table after a 1-0 win over Bradford City last weekend.
“We appreciate him internally and I think now the fans think we have got ourselves a good goalkeeper here," Robinson told the South London Press. “We just wish we had him permanently.
“We always knew he hadn't played for a while and it would take two or three weeks for him to get up and running.
“He's a beast. Listen, he's going to drop crosses - I'm asking him to come for everything. But if he can't catch it he punches it. If he misses it he makes sure the striker doesn't get it, and he makes great saves.”
