That was utter gash, again we score and that goon has them sitting behind the ball for 60 minutes, we had them under the cosh until we scored, ok it's a win but fuck me he bores the shit out of me, just hope he gets fucked off season end.

Three years of dealing with a useless bastard who wins the odd header being our lone forward....only to replace him with another useless bastard who can't head for shit.
Delighted with the win, but dear Christ Wilbraham was fucking woeful. He looks weird too.

He doesn't look like he has a goal in him for the rest of the season. Tonight was his big chance an he blew it. Virtually anonymous. That's curtains for him

You've got to admire Parky getting what we've got into a decent position to avoid the drop. That is surely Sunderland gone, im sure if Parky had McGeady and McManaman to work with they'd be first choices at our club.

Even the prospect of Anichebe looks relatively attractive.
Did Clough actually touch it or did it just brush against a hair?

The appeals from the Sunderland defenders seem to suggest he touched it, not with his head though.wanderlust wrote:Even the prospect of Anichebe looks relatively attractive.

At the end of the game the overriding feeling was relief rather than the satisfaction a confidence-inspiring performance would have brought. Yet again we rode our luck, but at least there's the consolation of the league table as it stands.DEANO82 wrote:The appeals from the Sunderland defenders seem to suggest he touched it, not with his head though.wanderlust wrote:Even the prospect of Anichebe looks relatively attractive.

Will we slip back after Norwich? Hope not as I'll get a lot of stick in the pub.

It was a poor game but we won which was vital. When i saw Wibraham was starting i was cursing Parky and as most would have predicted he was useless. We may as well have played a traffic cone up front as it would have done better.
I couldn't tell if Clough handballed for the goal, but all those sat around me said he did, but it's about time we had some luck. I thought Parky did his usual lets sit back and defend a 1-0 lead in the second half and i thought bringing on Derik for Clough on the hour mark was too early to go so defensive but credit to the back 9 they did well
Karacan was excellent last night, he finally looked like the player of old from his Reading days and was easily our man of the match.

But there are 103 pages of comments on line from their fans- that's impressive. Most are critical and quite funny.

Some of you need to fucking get a grip. We won.
We won with a 50 year old striker. We won despite more chopping and changing of the starting 11. And we won against a club that was in the Premier League less than 12 months ago and is still receiving massive parachute payments from the PL.
And while they may have been below us, this is exactly the sort of game we would have lost in recent years.
Yet we held our own and created the better chances.
Credit to the players and management.

We got lucky, we got outplayed at home by a team we should have played off the park.Natasha Whittam wrote:Why, did we not win?

37% possession to their 63%
8 shots to their 15
3 corners to their 7
Had McManaman started he probably would have lost that. Parky got the tactics wrong last night, hoofing the ball up yet again, when we all know full well that we can play some decent football along the ground.

It's all ifs and buts, just like every game of football. If McGinlay had missed that penalty against PNE we could be playing Bamber Bridge at the weekend.
We got soundly thrashed at QPR and Cardiff, without even a proper shot on target despite picking these ball players you claim we have. So it stands to reason he was going to pick Wilma as a target man last night. Admittedly Wilma was pretty bad, but I don't blame Parky for changing the tactics used at QPR & Cardiff.

Saying we played shite, and our tactics are all to cock, is absolutely true. However, look at the table, and you will realise that we are not alone. There are enough teams who cannot raise their game to consistently pull away from the drop zone. All in all, we are not quite as shite as a few others, and there is enough promise, at this time, for us to believe we can dodge the bullet. Next week it might change again, but overall, I feel we should be reasonably optimistic.
